Aquaterra Energy Now Distributing For Equinor

Norwich’s Aquaterra Energy, a leading worldwide offshore engineering solutions firm, will be distributing early well construction operations for Equinor at Johan Sverdrup, one of the biggest offshore oil fields in the northern North Sea.

Aquaterra Energy focus on riser systems and the analysis, tools and products required from the first days of a well’s operation. They aid the offshore gas and oil industry in increasing efficiencies and reducing costs through a range of products, systems and projects.

This is a hugely profitable deal as Johan Sverdrup is one of the largest offshore oil fields on the Norwegian continental shelf, with estimated reserves of up to 3.1 billion barrels of oil equivalent. This means that Aquaterra Energy will commence its development and significant role in such a respected field.

This Norwich engineering company has been selected for its technical capabilities, end-to-end approach and active team. Aquaterra Energy will engineer and provide nine complete strings of centralisers, associated equipment, and tieback engineering expertise by using their Well Start solution – expert engineering services for well drilling and pre-drilling processes.

They will still manage the work from the Norwich headquarters at Alkmaar Way and its recently-opened Stavanger office in Norway. The company is set to deliver the work in Q3 2018, with the first phase of production scheduled for late 2019.
