Funding application now open for STEM Ambassador

Creative projects focussed on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM Ambassador) subjects are creating benefits for architects and investors of the future.

Sheringham High School and a number of others in Norfolk have been awarded funding from the Dudgeon Community Fund STEM Programme this year. The funding is to drive projects which encourage pupils to develop and interest in STEM Ambassador subjects.

A grant has been awarded to Sheringham High School in order to enable others in North Norfolk and Breckland to take part in a competition to design, build, program and compete with robots. Winning groups will be put forward to compete on the international platform in Tallinn, Estonia.

Pupils from more than 10 secondary schools in Great Yarmouth, North Norfolk and Breckland have benefitted from the funding. Allowing them to build an electric car for the Greenpower IET F24 Challenge. Also Neatherd High School in Dereham have encouraged students to develop their skills in bicycle maintenance and design their own bike light. Run by the Norfolk Community Foundation & STEM Ambassador Hub, more funding is up for grabs for Great Yarmouth, Breckland and North Norfolk based projects taking place in 2019.
